WHAT OUR COURSE OFFERS
The aims of both the HNC and HND Acting are to allow candidates to gain skills and knowledge in the core performance areas of Acting, Movement, and Voice Studies and to integrate these in production. They are designed for those who wish to pursue a career in the Performing Arts and seek the relevant training in Acting and Performance.
The HNC is aimed at those who have some previous experience of Theatre Arts and Performance, perhaps through a lower level course or interest developed in youth theatre or amateur dramatics, or who show potential and demonstrate a strong interest in performance and who seek to develop their skills in order to progress to drama colleges or to the HND in Acting and Performance.

Professional Music Performance
“The HNC and HND qualifications in Music have been designed for those interested in pursuing a career in music or a music-related activity and who wish to develop practical skills in music performance, proficiency on an instrument or voice, and knowledge of music theory, working with recording technologies and the music industries. The personal qualities required to secure work in music and music-related fields will also be developed.
The HNC in Music (SCQF level 7) develops knowledge and skills in areas such as musical creativity, music theory, and technical musical skills.” (SQA)
Entry
Although access to this SCQF Level 7 award is at the discretion of the Head of Centre, applicants would benefit from previous experience in any of the following areas:
- Music
- Musical Theatre
- SCQF Level 6 or equivalent
Application Process
- Apply to Tish Tindall via email tish@lossieea.co.uk
- If you are selected for audition you will be asked to participate in a music workshop and individual interview at Lossie Entertainment Academy or via Zoom.
- Successful applicants will then be offered a place on the course via email within 10 working days.
Modes of Study
- Full Time Study (1 Year)
- Part Time Study (2 Years)
- Blended Study (online, on stage and in the studio).
Academic Year 2024/2025
The LossieEA academic year starts on Monday 16th September 2024 and finishes on Friday 27th June 2025.
College Hours 2024/2025
Part Time & Full Time Courses are delivered between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm Monday – Thursday.
Tuition Fees
- HNC Course Fees: £4,750
- SAAS Contribution: £1,205
- LossieEA Contribution: Full access to all evening/weekend classes.
Total Tuition Fees: £3,545Payment Plan
- £475 deposit payable within 10 working days after confirmation of acceptance of the offer.
- 12 x monthly payments of £255.83
Advanced Professional Music Performance
“The HNC and HND qualifications in Music have been designed for those interested in pursuing a career in music or a music-related activity and who wish to develop practical skills in music performance, proficiency on an instrument or voice, and knowledge of music theory, working with recording technologies and the music industries. The personal qualities required to secure work in music and music-related fields will also be developed.
The HND in Music (SCQF level 8) builds on the knowledge and skills of the HNC by increasing the depth of learning and knowledge, developing proficiency in musicality, expression and creativity in performance, stagecraft and/or composition and developing critical analysis.” (SQA)
