PROFESSIONAL DANCE PERFORMANCE
“Higher National qualifications provide practical skills and theoretical knowledge that meet the needs of employers. The HNC in Professional Dance Performance (SCQF level 7) develops knowledge and skills in areas such as choreography, audition preparation, company working and the contextualisation of dance. It focuses primarily on practical learning and development in a variety of dance disciplines.
It also develops learners’ communication, self-evaluation, interpersonal, presentation and analytical skills, as well as professional attitudes which enhance employment prospects.” (SQA)
ENTRY
Although access to this SCQF Level 7 award is at the discretion of the Head of Centre, applicants would benefit from previous experience in any of the following areas:
- Dance
- Musical Theatre
- SCQF Level 6 or equivalent
APPLICATION PROCESS
- Apply to Tish Tindall via email tish@lossieea.co.uk
- If you are selected for audition you will be asked to participate in a dance workshop and individual interview at Lossie Entertainment Academy or via Zoom.
- Successful applicants will then be offered a place on the course via email within 10 working days.
MODES OF STUDY
- Full Time Study (1 Year)
- Part Time Study (2 Years)
- Blended Study (online, on stage and in the studio).
ACADEMIC YEAR 2024/2025
The LossieEA academic year starts on Monday 16th September 2024 and finishes on Friday 27th June 2025.
COLLEGE HOURS 2024/2025
Part Time & Full Time Courses are delivered between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm Monday – Thursday.
TUITION FEES
- HNC Course Fees: £4,750
- SAAS Contribution: £1,205
- LossieEA Contribution: Full access to all evening/weekend classes.
Total Tuition Fees: £3,545
PAYMENT PLAN
- £475 deposit payable within 10 working days after confirmation of acceptance of the offer.
- 12 x monthly payments of £255.83
ADVANCED PROFESSIONAL DANCE PERFORMANCE
“Higher National qualifications provide practical skills and theoretical knowledge that meet the needs of employers.
The HND in Professional Dance Performance (SCQF level 8) builds on the knowledge and skills of the HNC and it is also designed to develop and advance dance performance thorough working knowledge of the processes involved in preparing for audition.” (SQA)
